The BBC Old Collegians Pipe Band formed in 1990, inspired by the 50th anniversary celebrations for the Brisbane Boys College school pipe band. Since then the band has evolved and grown to become a stalwart of the Queensland pipe band scene.

The Old Collegians Pipe Band Supporters Association, Inc., was incorporated in 2019 as part of a strategic plan to ensure the future growth, stability and prosperity of the Old Collegians Pipe Band. The Supporters Association provides a formal body for promoting and supporting the band's activities, such as pipe band competitions, public events, travels and social gatherings - which leaves the band free to concentrate on the music!
